Objectives (The Big Picture)

This is a rare opportunity. We are not a flash in the pan. We are a team of seasoned professionals with experience across multiple disciplines. Yet Quility is a ground-level opportunity. This Analyst will be the very first hire within Quility’s Management Reporting function. That comes with the opportunity to work alongside Quility’s executives to build something new. Something that didn’t exist yesterday. The opportunity to offer feedback that will actually be heard. And the opportunity to think creatively instead of just entering values into cells. With every quarter we will have new strategies to design, new challenges to overcome, and new projects to execute.

Essential Functions (Details/Day to Day)

  • Conduct full lifecycle of analytics projects, including pulling, manipulating, and exporting data from design to execution

  • Interpret data, analyze results using analytics, research methodologies, and statistical techniques

  • Develop and implement data analyses, leverage data collection systems and other strategies for statistical efficiency and accuracy

  • Prepare, analyze, and summarize various periodic, pro forma and ad hoc operational results for use by various key stakeholders

  • Evaluate key performance indicators, provide ongoing reports, and make data driven recommendations

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Will consider a distributed employee. Distributed employees may be asked to occasionally travel to Asheville for meetings and\or training.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred. Certifications within statistical or financial fields are considered. Graduate studies within related fields is a plus.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Finance role requiring the synthesis and analysis of complex data is required.

  • Advanced Excel required. Ability to run queries or other analysis across large data sets required. Competence using data visualization softwares such as Powe BI or Tableau is preferred. Ability using relevant statistical programming languages such as R and Python is a plus.

  • Insurance industry experience is a plus.

  • Quility is a Microsoft 365 business environment so experience using relevant Microsoft financial applications is a plus.
